Polished Rams Horn Ammonite with Pyrite – Morondava, Madagascar
Pyritized Rams Horn Ammonite shells from the Morondava Basin, Madagascar, display tight rams-horn spirals and occasionally show sporadic golden Pyrite replacement that highlights the highly elaborate Ammonitic suture patterns in crisp, frilled, fern-leaf detail. The pyrite provides bright metallic luster and subtle iridescent flashes, while uncoated areas retain the original brown calcite matrix, creating strong visual contrast across the specimen.
