Black Jade From China

Like other forms of jade, Black Jade consists primarily of either Jadeite or Nephrite. Jadeite is usually the type associated with black jade, although Nephrite can also appear in darker shades. Black Jade can be either translucent or opaque. When polished, it can have a smooth, glassy appearance. The texture can sometimes show fine grains or be quite smooth, depending on how it's been treated or cut.
