DUMORTIERITE
A striking aluminium borosilicate mineral prized for its rich, intense blues, violet-blue and occasional brownish to greenish hues. Sourced primarily from Mozambique and Madagascar, it typically occurs as dense fibrous aggregates or granular masses with a vitreous to silky lustre. Thanks to its hardness, vibrant colour and smooth polishing properties, dumortierite has become a highly sought-after material for carvings, cabochons and decorative objects.
