General Description
Rhodonite is a Manganese inosilicate, SiO₃ and member of the pyroxenoid group of minerals, crystallizing in the triclinic system. It commonly occurs as cleavable to compact masses with a rose-red colour. This is a new deposit of material being mined in Zimbabwe and polished in the region. It has a very rare and beautiful rich pink to deep red colour. The Rhodonite occurs with black Chromite and has a high weight to size ratio. The pink colour is variable from a dusky pink to semi gemmy which is exceptionally rare. This is an extremely hard stone, and every piece is beautifully polished . Price is grade dependent.
