A NOTE FROM NICK
A large flat of 18 super rare beautifully polished Blue Smithsonite free forms, some with vug cavities. Rare blue and green banded material from the 1990's. This was found at Tucson selling at $1 per gram for the top material but it hasn't surfaced again since that find. We found an old pile of rough and these were made from this material. .
PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
Blue Smithsonite Aragonite from Congo
Blue Smithsonite Aragonite from the Congo is a rare and captivating mineral, prized for its vibrant blue hues and unique botryoidal or crystalline formations. This zinc carbonate mineral, often found in the oxidized zones of zinc ore deposits, showcases stunning shades ranging from delicate sky blue to intense electric blue, attributed to copper or aurichalcite inclusions. Its lustrous, waxy to vitreous surface and translucent to opaque appearance make it a sought-after collector's piece and a striking addition to jewelry or decorative displays. Sourced from the Yanga Koubenza Quarries in the Republic of the Congo, this mineral is celebrated for its rarity and aesthetic appeal, with recent finds in 2021 and 2022 offering collectors a unique opportunity to own a piece of this exquisite natural treasure..
