Stromatolites from Madagascar

Stromatolite from Madagascar is an ancient, fossilized formation composed of layered sedimentary rock, created by Cyanobacteria over billions of years. They are one of the first oxygen producers on the Earth and without them we would probably not exist!  These formations display beautiful, ringed and banded patterns in shades of brown, gray, and beige, showcasing the Earth’s early history. Stromatolite is also known as Kambamba Jasper.
