Polished Stichtite And Watermelon Fluorite Free Forms x 6 From Southern Africa
PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
Stichtite, a rare mineral known for its vibrant purple hues. Found in small deposits in South Africa, this Chromium and Magnesium Carbonate mineral ranges in color from soft pinks and lilacs to deep purples. Formed as an alteration product of Chromite within Serpentine deposits, Stichtite's bright purple clusters contrast beautifully with its green Serpentine matrix.
Watermelon Fluorite from Uis is famous for its blue, green, and purple colors, often with fascinating quartz exposures. Discovered by Toprock Namibia nearly two decades ago, this deposit has been recently revitalized with new mining efforts. The plates, up to 60 cm thick and extending 15 meters below the surface, reveal gem-quality green specimens, though the color range can be slightly narrower in some areas. Resembling a watermelon slice, this Fluorite is stable and perfect for lapidary work. As demand grows, we’re excited to bring more polished pieces to the market.
