Mtorolite is actually a very rare and expensive material (selling at $90 per lb at Gem shows for nice cutting material) but we found the thinner plates with vugs and crystalline surfaces to polish into nice polished affordable specimen plates. 4 of these here from 12-15cm . Often called Star or Emerald Chrysoprase , which is Chrome coloured rather than Nickel for normal Chrysoprase.

Emerald Mtorolite is a rare, vibrant green variety of Chrome Chalcedony found only in Zimbabwe. Its color ranges from deep forest green to a lighter emerald hue, caused by trace amounts of Chromium within its structure. This unique mineral is typically opaque with a glassy to waxy luster and is prized for its rich color, often mistaken for Jade due to its resemblance.
