PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
Polished lovely "Turquenite" Blue Howlite Elephant Carving from Zimbabwe
Howlite, a stunning mineral discovered in Nova Scotia in 1868 by the talented Henry How, has a fascinating history. Originally known as Silico-Boro-Calcite, it wasn’t long before the name Howlite was adopted, thanks to the renowned mineralogist James Dwight Dana.
At Toprock, our Howlite is sourced from Zimbabwe and is 100% natural. Due to logistical challenges, obtaining large quantities of rough Howlite at a reasonable price is quite difficult, making our supply even more special.
Howlite features a beautiful white to grey base color, adorned with striking veiny patterns. The more distinct the contrast between the matrix and the veins, the higher the quality—meaning whiter hues with darker veins are the true gems of this mineral!
The photographs shown represent either the full stock item available or a sample from a larger batch. Variations are expected among individually selected batches. However, every batch or item within this stock has been carefully sorted, graded and priced according to its respective quality.
