This stunning Banded Agate, sourced from various regions across Madagascar, is a true gem in the world of minerals. Agate is a translucent microcrystalline form of silica, known for its beautiful bands and patterns. Unlike jaspers, which are opaque, agates allow light to pass through, enhancing their natural beauty. The agate from Madagascar comes in a variety of colors, including grey, blue, peach, pink, and hues ranging from white to honey or cream. Most of this material is carefully cut and polished in Antananarivo, with only the top 20% of polished pieces selected for sale. These natural slices are unmodified, showcasing the inherent beauty of the stone.
