A tray of 12 natural Amethyst crystals from Ashburton, just 15km south of the Toprock Farm and they look remarkably like Brandberg Window Quartz, but this is Zulu Amethyst. Some twin crystals and sceptres included.

AMETHYST CRYSTALS 
South African Zulu Amethyst, Amethyst is a violet to purple variety of Quartz, coloured by iron impurities and natural irradiation within the crystal lattice. These specimens from Ashburton in KwaZulu-Natal display the characteristic window formations typically associated with the famous Brandberg locality in Namibia, with well-defined terminations and exceptional internal clarity. Found in small deposits within the ancient metamorphic and granitic geology of the KwaZulu-Natal region, this Zulu Amethyst represents a rare and localised occurrence of high-quality purple Quartz in South Africa. The natural crystal habit, strong purple colour, and window-like faces make these highly collectible specimens from an emerging and exciting locality.
