Polished Blue Smithsonite Aragonite Points x 6 From Congo
PRODUCT INFORMATION
General Description
No longer available, only random odd pieces! Smithsonite is a variably coloured trigonal mineral which only rarely is found in well-formed crystals. The typical habit is as earthy botryoidal masses. Smithsonite occurs as a secondary mineral in the weathering or oxidation zone of Zinc-bearing ore deposits. It sometimes occurs as replacement bodies in carbonate rocks and as such may constitute Zinc ore. Specimens and/or polished material do not come up very often and the recently discovery of a pocket in 2022 is a fantastic opportunity for collectors! We have for a couple of years been getting matrix Smithsonite from Congo which has been beautifully polished in South Africa. A fairly unique and rare item to add to any collectors cabinet, either natural or polished. Price is grade dependant. Item/s are as shown.
