VERDITE
Verdite, also known as Bud Stone or African Jade, is a light to dark green serpentine-like mineral dating back 3.5 billion years. Sourced from South Africa, this Fuchsite-based rock is related to Serpentine from Zimbabwe. Used in Zimbabwean Shona carvings for decades, Verdite features swirling or banded patterns due to color intensity variations. Fairly soft and easy to carve, it is a popular choice in our carving range.
