STICHTITE

Stichtite is a carbonate of Chromium and Magnesium, ranging from pink to purple. Formed from Chromite in Serpentine, it’s rare internationally. Combined with green serpentine, it’s primarily found in Australia and South Africa, also known as Atlantisite. This lightweight material has a good size-to-weight ratio, but natural flaws make perfect polishing difficult. Toprock sources rough Stichtite from Barberton, South Africa, where small pieces are common, making larger specimens rare.
