Polished XXL Septerye Sauvage "Dragons" Egg Geode x 1 From Madagascar
PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
Giant Septerye Sauvage "Dragons Egg" with a crystalline Black Calcite center - metal stand included
The Septarian Nodule, known as the "Dragon Egg," is a tri-color concretion of Aragonite (brown), Calcite (yellow), and Limestone (grey). Formed 50 to 70 million years ago during the Cretaceous Period, these nodules originated from volcanic sediment mixed with ancient marine life remains.
As oceans receded, internal cracks formed, filled over time with Aragonite and Calcite crystals, creating the stunning patterns that define these nodules. Primarily found in Utah and Madagascar, they are often polished into egg shapes, earning the name "Dragon Eggs." Other forms like spheres and hearts also reveal their intricate crystalline beauty.
