A large tray of 35 polished Shattuckite with Chrysocolla, Azurite and Malachite free forms. These groovy, polished free forms have blue to blue-green colours, with patterns mixed with green Malachite, dark blue Azurite, blue Shattuckite and Chrysocolla.
PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
Shattuckite from the Congo
Shattuckite is a rare copper silicate mineral known for its vivid blue to blue-green colours. The Democratic Republic of the Congo produces high-quality specimens, mainly from the Tantara Mine in the Shinkolobwe area, Haut-Katanga Province. These pieces typically form as botryoidal crusts, radiating fibrous and acicular crystals, silky aggregates, and Spherulitic clusters, often associated with Malachite, Chrysocolla, Dioptase, Quartz, Azurite, and Cuprite. Prized by collectors for intense colour and excellent lustre. All hand polished in the Congo.
