A NOTE FROM NICK
A large flat of 33 small Rare Spherocobaltite specimens with black Heterogenite on some. It's a Sphero crystallization of a trigonal rhombohedral, smaller crystal system. These are not your typical Salrose or Cobaltoan Dolomite as the cobalt dominant end member, Spherocobaltite carries significantly higher cobalt content, producing that deep, saturated magenta/red to intense raspberry color that immediately sets it apart.

PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
Spherocobaltite from Musonoi Mine, Kolwezi, Congo
Spherocobaltite from the Musonoi mine, Kolwezi, Congo, is pure cobalt carbonate (CoCO₃), a rare member of the calcite group that forms dark magenta-red to intense raspberry-red crystals, frequently in spherical, rosette, or botryoidal habits. Unlike normal Salrose (the common trade name for bright pink Cobaltoan dolomite from Congolese deposits, which is calcium-magnesium dominant with only minor cobalt substitution), Spherocobaltite is the cobalt-dominant end-member with significantly higher cobalt content. This results in a deeper, more saturated red color, different crystal chemistry, and greater rarity compared to the paler pink shades typical of Cobaltoan dolomite or Cobaltoan calcite.
