A large flat of 12 bright and colourful Shattuckite free forms with Chrysocolla and Malachite. Stone sealer has been used to preserve the colour.
Shattuckite from Namibia
Shattuckite is a rare copper silicate mineral renowned for its vivid blue to blue-green colours. Namibia yields some of the world’s finest specimens, mainly from the Kaokoveld Plateau in the Kunene Region, with additional occurrences in the Erongo and Oshikoto Regions (including Tsumeb). These pieces commonly display botryoidal crusts, radiating fibrous crystals, silky aggregates, and Spherulitic clusters, often in association with Malachite, Chrysocolla, Cuprite, Bornite, Native Copper, Dioptase, Azurite, and Duftite. Highly prized by collectors for their intense colour and excellent lustre.
