A large 271 x 243 x 18 mm sized expertly sliced, polished red and brown Podocarpus podocarpus (scientific name) Petrified Wood sliced plaque with gorgeous wood grain patterns. 

PRODUCT DESCRIPTION 
Petrified Wood from Madagascar 
Petrified Wood from Madagascar is fossilised ancient tree material where the organic wood has been replaced by minerals such as silica, iron, and manganese. All of this petrified wood comes from Podocarpus trees with the scientific name Podocarpus podocarpus. The brown petrified wood comes from the Mahajanga region, while the red petrified wood comes from the Marovoay area. It shows rich, earthy red and brown hues with well-preserved wood grain and structure and natural crystalline vug cavities.
