PRODUCT INFORMATION

General Description

Stone sealed! The Apatite deposits, the source of our polished items, are not extensive, and their availability in large quantities is limited. The natural material possesses a green to green-blue colour, while the polished Apatite undergoes a heat treatment process, enhancing its colour to achieve a rich, intense, gem-like quality. This enhanced blue hue has become the expected standard for regional polished Blue Apatite, with many resellers unaware of the professional treatment during the polishing process. In more recent discoveries, the material exhibits an increased occurrence and intensity of internal, crack-like patterns, often accompanied by vein-like features displaying a haematoid-like coloration. Natural Apatite, in contrast, is less gem-like, boasting deeper and darker colours and is generally considered a lower-grade option by regional lapidary experts. Consequently, many opt not to work with the natural material due to its limited appeal, though it remains exceptionally beautiful in its own right, capturing our admiration. It's important to note that this is the only heat-treated product we offer, not by choice but rather as a reflection of the realities of the Madagascar rock market. On occasion, we receive small batches of natural polished material, although this remains a rarity. Explore the unique beauty of our Apatite products, each with its distinctive characteristics, and add a touch of geological wonder to your collection. Price is grade dependent. Items are as shown.
