PRODUCT INFORMATION

General Description

Aegirine is a member of the Pyroxene group, a sodium iron silicate that forms as long, prismatic crystals often terminated by a steep asymmetrical pyramid. It may also form as compact and fibrous disseminated grains. Aegirine specimens from Malawi range in thickness and size from needle-like to massive singles. The colour ranges from black shiny and matt to more fibrous green crystals. Malawi yields an amazing range of specimens particularly complex acicular clusters associated to Smokey Quartz, Orthoclase, Zircon and Feldspar. Aegirine crystals are often used in wire wraps, and are suitable for starter or even more tenured collectors. Price is grade dependant. Item/s are as shown.
