Clear quartz with anything from 50% to 70% optic to near optic clarity is near impossible to obtain! The sheer volume of quartz which needs to be processed in order to make clear optic spheres is overwhelming! Majority of polished spheres which are found from time to time have some degree of inclusions, rainbow veil, natural flaws, some precussioning, etc. None the less all balls are highly selected and graded and priced per piece, and collectively as batches. Prices are fairly vibrant per kg but its purely grade dependant. Generally Speaking - Quartz is perhaps one of the most common but also the most diverse, in terms of colour as well as associated inclusions. Madagascar yields some of the best Optic to near Optic Rock Crystal Quartz in the world. The clarity and transparency is always world class. You do have variables; internal veils, wispy or rainbow optic features between the pieces - transparency and translucency between pieces can also be variable. Colours also range from smokey, white, amethyst, smokey amethyst and various rarities in-between. Quartz must be by far the most diverse item in terms of pricing and grade as many factors impact its value. Nick selects each piece himself for quality material and precision craftmanship.
