PRODUCT INFORMATION

General Description

Each batch includes 12 pieces of roughly the same size and grade quality. All batches are selected to be of equal value, even if the weight between the batches are slightly variable. Don't miss out as this is the first and only batch of Dumortierite hearts we have seen in the past 30 years! We have stone sealed this rock to bring out its colour as they are naturally porous and matt in nature with a unique silky blue colour! This is therefore an exceptionally rare material available in a unique shape.

Generally Speaking - Dumortierite is a fibrous, multicolored Aluminum Boro-Silicate mineral with the chemical composition Al₇BO₃(SiO₄)₃O₃. This mineral crystallizes in the orthorhombic system, typically forming fibrous aggregates of slender prismatic crystals. These crystals possess a vitreous luster and come in a range of colors, including brown, blue, green, and the rarer violet and pink varieties. Madagascar is home to limited deposits of this material, which are meticulously transformed into beautiful polished pieces. The material's stunning blue hue often resembles apatite, but there exists a distinct chemical differentiation between the two minerals. Dumortierite is exceptionally rare and highly sought after by collectors.

The photographs are representative of either the entire stock item offered, else a representative sample of the broader batch. Variation is to be expected across individually selected batches. However, all batches / items within this stock item are fully sorted and selected accordingly to associated grade.
