Polished Black Tourmaline On Quartz Matrix
Polished tourmalinated Quartz from Karibib, Namibia, consists of clear to milky quartz containing prominent inclusions or needles of black schorl tourmaline. These specimens form in pegmatite deposits within the Erongo Region, where tourmaline and quartz crystallize together in zoned veins associated with granitic intrusions. The polished form highlights the contrasting dark tourmaline rods against the quartz matrix, a characteristic feature of material mined near Karibib.
