Chrysocolla with Malachite and Shattuckite Specimens
Chrysocolla with Malachite and Shattuckite specimens from Koakoveld in Namibia, are remarkable mineral assemblages from the Northern area of Namibia. These specimens display a mesmerizing palette, with Chrysocolla’s soft turquoise to teal hues forming smooth, botryoidal layers or crusts, interwoven with the lush, forest-green banding of Malachite, and accented by the rare, vivid blue of Shattuckite, which often appears in fibrous or crystalline clusters. The interplay of these copper based minerals, Chrysocolla (a hydrous copper silicate), Malachite (a copper carbonate), and Shattuckite (another copper silicate), creates a dynamic contrast of textures and colors, ranging from silky and matte to glossy and striated.
