PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
Plancheite - Congo’s Electric Robin’s Egg Blue Copper Silk
Plancheite is a rare hydrous Copper Silicate found almost exclusively in the oxidized zones of Katanga Copper deposits, DRC, but we have had some beautiful specimens from Kaokoveld in Namibia. It forms nice bright robin’s egg pale white-blue, to sky blue fibrous aggregates with characteristic silky to velvet luster, occurring as botryoidal crusts, some with needle sprays, dense felted mats, or shimmering coatings over matrix. Typical associations and inclusions include crystalline Quartz, Calcite, Malachite, Chrysocolla, Shattuckite, Dioptase, and Heterogenite.
