PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

Natural Black Schorl Tourmaline Specimens with Hyalite Opal on 1 specimen.

Schorl is the most prevalent form of Tourmaline, celebrated for its striking lustrous appearance and stunning crystal formations. Renowned as one of the most aesthetically pleasing black minerals, it can manifest as delicate, dense needles within Quartz, where it is referred to as Tourmalinated Quartz. Our black Tourmaline mostly comes from the Erongo Region of Namibia, known for producing some of the finest specimen-grade materials globally.

Tourmaline from this area often features Mercedes or acicular terminations and can be found as single crystals or in clusters, showcasing a diverse array of habits. In addition to its beauty, these specimens frequently coexist with minerals such as Hyalite Opal, Quartz, Smoky Quartz, Feldspar, and Orthoclase, making them even more desirable.

Schorl is not only prized for its aesthetic appeal but also for its practical applications. Notably, it is used in the walls of international space stations due to its ability to absorb electromagnetic and solar radiation.
