General Description

Baryte & Barite are both interchangeable. One being used in the UK and the latter used more frequently in the USA. Baryte does not come up very often. We do however from time to time obtain exceptionally rare leaf shaped crystalline Baryte specimens or specimens showing other habits. Baryte tends to be an excellent classic mineral for the collectors and specimens come up in very small and very infrequent batches. Baryte, barite or barytes is a mineral consisting of Barium Sulfate (BaSO4). Baryte is generally white or colourless, and is the main source of the element Barium. Price is grade dependant.
