Kyanite crystals from Karoi, Zimbabwe, are renowned for their striking blue Aluminosilicate composition, typically found in Aluminium-rich metamorphic pegmatites and sedimentary rock formations. Sourced from fissures often interspersed with black Mica, these crystals exhibit a rich, vibrant blue hue, though their gemmy clarity can vary. The Karoi deposits primarily yield small to medium-sized crystals, with less than 5% forming larger, specimen-grade pieces, making them highly sought after for jewelry making and alternative markets. Formed under high-pressure conditions exceeding four kilobars, Zimbabwean Kyanite stands out for its deep color, occasionally accompanied by matrix clusters featuring Quartz, Mica, or even Garnets, adding to its unique appeal among collectors and enthusiasts.
