PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
Galena: The Shimmering Lead Ore
Galena is a fascinating mineral and the primary ore of Lead, with a history that dates back to around 3000 BC when humans began extracting it for its valuable content. This shiny, silver-grey mineral often forms in ore veins alongside other minerals like Sphalerite, Pyrite, Chalcopyrite, and Tenantlike-Tetrahedrite. It also appears in skarns and even in sedimentary rocks, where it can replace Carbonate beds or fill pore spaces. One of Galena’s most striking features is its bright silver color, especially visible along the cubic cleavage surfaces, which catch the light beautifully and display a stunning metallic luster. Hold it in your hand, and you'll notice its considerable weight, after all, it is primarily made of Lead!
