PRODUCT INFORMATION

General Description

Kyanite is typically a blue aluminosilicate mineral, usually found in aluminium-rich metamorphic pegmatites and/or sedimentary rock. Kyanite in metamorphic rocks generally indicates pressures higher than four kilobars. Our crystals are sources from the Karoi deposits of Zimbabwe which occur in fissures often filled with black mica. The crystals sizes are mostly small to medium in size with less than 5% of the deposits yielding larger specimen grade crystals. This line of spheres has been manufactured locally by setting the crystals in resin and then polishing them to perfection. The mica has given the resin a somewhat grey colouration. Price is grade dependant. Items are as shown.
