General Description
Coral Flower Agate: Fairly new material coming up around 2018 and 2019 for the first time. The material is primarily Agate with 3D white flower patterns penetrating into the clear Chalcedony. It is fossil coral preserved in a transparent host rock which results in a range of exceptional patterns and features. The chalcedony host ranges from milky clear to a light pink to apricot color. Absolutely stunning, this is a new material and is pretty rare and most likely will come out the ground for a limited period. This is quite similar to Ocean Jasper and will be equally hard to get in the future. Very small sections of the deposit yields material which has a rich green color.Agate is any translucent microcrystalline form of silica. Agates tend to be translucent, while Jaspers are opaquer and do not allow light to pass through them. Agate and crystalline Agate are a fairly staple product from Madagascar. The agate is sourced country wide and mostly polished in Antananarivo. The material ranges from banded grey and white to dendritic black spotted and fortification features with crystals from clear, white or pale, to bright purple Amethyst. The majority of material tends to be cut and polished, with very little of the material being left unworked. This is very different from standard Brazilian dyed material as we only supply material with natural color. Only the top 20% of material is selected. Price is grade dependent. The items are as shown.
