A tray of 15 mixed whole polished Douvilleiceras spined Ammonites. Perfect with segmentation aperture intact. Also called "Tractor" ammonites in Madagascar from their appearance looking similar to the rear wheel of a Tractor. Skilfully polished revealing the segmentation patterns in detail, while retaining their full natural formations. And 3 semi-opalized Cleoniceras Ammonites. Nice mixed tray with some A grade beauties included.

Polished Douvilleiceras Ammonite – Tulear, Madagascar
Douvilleiceras Ammonite Spiney Ammonite Fossils from the Lower Albian (Early Cretaceous) from the Maintirano, Mahajanga Basin region in Madagascar. These display thick, heavily ribbed heteromorph shells with tight initial spiral followed by open U-shaped bend and final hook. Ribs are strong, rounded, and bear prominent lateral and ventral tubercles in rows; shell preserved in original tan brown Calcite with occasional iridescent nacre flashes. Classic Madagascan Douvilleiceras with segmentation suture showing.
