Cobbed Buddstone from Swaziland (Eswatini)
Cobbed Selected Buddstone from Swaziland (Eswatini) is great lapidary rough material.
Buddstone comes from the Mountain Range on the border of The KIngdom of Swaziland and South Africa and is a Chromium coloured Fuchsite infused Gemstone found between the Swaziland Jade and the Verdite Deposits in the "" Barberton Greenbelt" . Buddstone has solid- and sometimes whirling white patterns and, whereas the Verdite deposit on the South African Side of the Border is softer (but with Corundum sometimes) and has a much higher Serpentine content, Buddstone is a blend of Chrome fuchsite, Chert, Chalcedony and Seftonite and is a more opaque Green with interesting patterns. The Swazi Jade further along this greenbelt has much higher Chalcedony content and is more translucent but its REALLY difficult to identify the areas on the reef that join and are in between each of these main mining areas and sometimes defy classification into one or the other. The Swazi Bloodstone is also at the end of this reef in the same Mountain Range.
