Unakite is a metamorphic rock primarily composed of green Epidote, pink Orthoclase feldspar, and quartz. Its unique coloration arises from the intermingling of these minerals, giving it a distinctive mottled appearance. Formed from the alteration of granite, unakite typically originates in geological environments where hydrothermal processes occur.
