Exceptional Emerald green prismatic crystals coated with druzi clear calcite sitting on a quartz crystal matrix. Clusters rarely get to this size! Nick almost kept this one and its been hard for him to part with, as it is overwhelmingly beautiful! New deposit being mined in the Mashamba Mine in Congo! Absolutely breath taking and suitable for the high end collectors.
Generally Speaking - Dioptase is an exceptionally rare mineral. The last two odd years have yielded more collector and museum grade specimens of Dioptase than the previous 2 decades since the Tsumeb specimens. Every single piece sold by Toprock has been graded and priced according to quality by Nick May. Brazzaville (Congo) yielded some of the best Museum quality gemmy crystalline clusters of Dioptase. The specimens from this deposit were often associated with bright gemmy yellow Wulfenite crystals with smaller numbers of specimens having botryoidal hollow domes of Dioptase. The latest material from the Mashamba Mine is very different when compared to the Brazzaville specimens which hit the market 12 to 18 months ago.
