General Description
Lovely new Amethyst specimens being sourced in Kolomo region, Zambia. The colour intensity is variable across the deposit with the selected material having variable gemmy clarity and phantom like colour distribution. Popularly called "Jacaranda Amethyst" in reference to the colour similarity with the globally recognised Jacaranda Tree (Jacaranda mimosifolia). Mined material has mostly been cleaned else natural red haematoid like staining, drusy quartz coating, or possible etching of the crystal surfaces are encountered. Specimens are quite sizeable with the individual crystals being fairly large and often quite impressive. Occasionally the deposit yields exceptionally large crystals or clusters of exceptionally large crystals. Very nice colour with complex vug or plate like specimens. Price is grade dependant.
