Very rare material. This is Iolite Cordierite with blue sparks in it. We named it Blue Spark Iolite. This is unusual material that only came out of one pocket and also has pink Sillimanite dots in the matrix. When held in bright light, small gemmy blue sparkling inclusions in a darker blue matrix reflect from these crystals. These are nicely made and this only came out once, about 8 years ago, in Madagascar.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cstrong\u003ePRODUCT DESCRIPTION\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003cbr\u003eIolite with Sillimanite is blue to blue-black Cordierite, the mineral behind Iolite or Water Sapphire, spotted with pink Sillimanite, an aluminium silicate. Small bright blue flashes of gemmy Cordierite can show through the polished surface, and the Iolite shows strong pleochroism.
