PRODUCT INFORMATION

General Description

Exceptionally rare material from a place called Tshipise, meaning hot place due to a thermal hot spring. Lovely Bastite (Epidote and Piedmontite) from South Africa. Absolutely stunning colour mix of green, red and earthy colours. The nature of the material has led to it often being referred to as Dragons Blood Stone. Not a commonly available rock type, and even less commonly polished. Piedmontite is a Sorosilicate mineral in the Monoclinic crystal system with the chemical formula Ca 2 3O(OH). It is a member of the Epidote group. Red to reddish-brown or red-black in colour, Piedmontite has a red streak and a vitreous lustre. Epidote is an abundant rock-forming mineral, but one of secondary origin. It occurs in Marble and Schistose rocks of Metamorphic origin. It is also a product of hydrothermal alteration of various minerals (Feldspars, Micas, Pyroxenes, Amphiboles, Garnets and others) composing igneous rocks.

This unique line of pendants are all locally manufactured. The copper wire wraps are all uniquely made in Kwa-Zulu Natal, South Africa. A very beautiful range of pendants which are all unique and practically one of a kind copper jewellery pieces.

The photographs are representative of either the entire stock item offered, else a representative sample of the broader batch. Variation is to be expected across individually selected batches.
