The green colouration in these specimens is a direct result of the Fuchsite content, while the white zones represent areas of relatively pure Quartz with lower Fuchsite concentration, producing the attractive two-tone banding and colour contrast visible across each piece. South Africa hosts several Aventurine occurrences within its ancient Precambrian metamorphic and granitic geology, producing material with good colour saturation and well-distributed sparkle throughout.
