In the Erongo Mountains of Namibia, it occurs in miarolitic cavities within the granite and is often found as fine fibrous growths or as terminations on schorl crystals. Specimens from this locality can be associated with schorl, quartz, aquamarine (beryl), orthoclase, fluorite, topaz and occasionally hyalite.
