PRODUCT INFORMATION

General Description

Shattuckite is a copper silicate hydroxide mineral with formula Cu5(SiO3)4(OH)2. It crystallizes in the orthorhombic – bipyramidal crystal system and usually occurs in a granular massive form and also as fibrous acicular crystals. It is closely allied to plancheite in structure and appearance. Named after its discovery locality, the Shattuck Mine, Bisbee, Arizona, USA. Our specimens are sources from various deposits across Namibia. The colour intensity ranges from light to darker blue, with some pieces having botryoidal-like, needle like or fibrous exposures. Our new deposit yields cauliflower like specimens associated to Duftite. Whilst we also get matrix material which is in a quartz like matrix associated, chrysocolla, sometimes malachite and occasionally azurite. We from time to time obtain professionally polished material from the same region! Generally in the form of facetted points! Price is grade dependent. Item/s are as shown.
