PRODUCT INFORMATION

General Description

Quartz stands as one of the most common and extraordinarily diverse gemstones, celebrated for its rich spectrum of colours and the intriguing inclusions that often grace its crystal structure. The journey of inclusions finding their way into quartz is a fascinating one, with three distinct processes shedding light on their formation. Protogenetic inclusions emerge when the inclusions precede the formation of quartz. Subsequently, quartz envelops and preserves them, resulting in a captivating fusion. Syngenetic inclusions, on the other hand, come into being as both the quartz and the inclusions grow concurrently, giving rise to a harmonious coexistence. Finally, the exsolution process unfolds as quartz's growth conditions permit the incorporation of elements into the crystal lattice that may be incompatible with the structure under different temperatures or pressures. As conditions shift, these elements may separate from the lattice, leading to the formation of new minerals. Among the various inclusions and coatings, iron oxides and hydroxides are commonly encountered. These encompass several potential species, such as magnetite, hematite, limonite, goethite, and lepidocrocite. In less common cases, inclusions from the Amphibole and Chlorite group may make an appearance, with examples including actinolite and clinochlore or vermicular Chlorite. Additional, though substantially rarer inclusions, encompass Anatase, Rutile (Silver or Gold), Tourmaline Group, Epidote, Garnet, Fluorite, Calcite, Brookite, Pyrite, Dumortierite, Ajoite, Papagoite, Hollandite, and a myriad of others. Price is grade dependant. Items are as shown.
