PRODUCT INFORMATION

General Description

Tiger's Eye is a chatoyant gemstone that is usually a metamorphic rock with a golden to red-brown colour and a silky lustre. A Quartz group member, Tiger's Eye and the related blue-coloured mineral Hawk's Eye gain their silky, lustrous appearance from the parallel intergrowth of Quartz crystals and altered amphibole fibres that have mostly turned into Limonite. Our Tigers eye mostly comes from the Northern Cape of South Africa. Occurring in mostly thin bands of chatoyant golden, blue or red colours. Blue and Red material is substantially less common with other banded or variegated forms being available sporadically. Free forms, slabs and standing pieces tend to be manufactured by ourselves, whilst the points, balls, DT's are exclusively manufactured for Toprock in Johannesburg. Price is grade dependent. Items are as shown.
