PRODUCT INFORMATION
General Description
Ocean Jasper has been around for several decades. The earliest material was more commonly referred to as Orbicular Ocean Jasper and was aptly named due to the complex circular patterns associated to this early material. Ocean Jasper is often showing a wide range of colours, from pink, blue, yellow, green and almost everything else in-between. However, the more “modern” deposits tend to have a lower diversity of colours and are dominated by banded patterns. Only a small % of material mined in the last decade has yielded traditional orbicular patterns. Those familiar with the “old school” material from many moons ago would likely consider modern material to be low quality. Toprock grading standards of Ocean Jasper are exceptionally high, as we have almost 3 decades of experience with the material. Nowadays, we only select the top 10 to 20% of polished material and every single batch is carefully graded and priced.Fairly new material coming up around 2018 and 2019 for the first time. The material is primarily Agate with 3D white flower patterns penetrating into the clear Chalcedony. It is fossil coral preserved in a transparent host rock which results in a range of exceptional patterns and features. The chalcedony host ranges from milky clear to a light pink to apricot colour. Absolutely stunning, this is new material and is pretty rare and most likely will come out the ground for a limited period. This is quite similar to Ocean Jasper and will be equally hard to get in the future. Very small sections of the deposit yields material which has a rich green colour.
Price is grade dependent. Items are as shown.
