The term sand dollar refers to species of flat, burrowing sea urchins belonging to the order Clypeasteroida. Some species within the order, not quite as flat, are known as sea biscuits. Sand dollars can also be called "sand cakes" or "cake urchins". The specimens from Madagascar are Triassic in age and have generally been given a beautiful polish but natural ones do come up from time to time. Price is grade dependent.
