PRODUCT INFORMATION

General Description

Amazing selected crystalline Salrose specimens. Strangely its most considered Pink Calcite or Cobalt Calcite but in fact specimens are also often cobalt bearing dolomite. Salrose is thus a common name given to both the cobalt bearing dolomite or calcites which originate from parts of Southern and Central Congo. Differentiating between the dolomite and calcite variants can be particularly difficult when the specimens are microcrystalline in nature. Thus, Salrose is often used as a precautionary measure to refer to both without having to identify the mineral carrying the cobalt. Specimens often have Malachite in association or other commonly occurring copper-based minerals but not in all instances. Specimens can range from pale milky pink crystals, all the way to highly optic deep pink gemmy material which is exceptionally rare. Price is grade dependent. Items are as shown.
