Polished Small Blue Apatite Balls x 6 from Madagascar

R 682.00 ZAR
The massive Apatite deposits from which products are polished are not extensive nor available in large quantities. The natural material has a green to green blue colour, whilst the polished material is heat treated to produce the rich intensive gemmy colour. The rich blue heat-treated material is what clients have become to expect from regional polished Blue Apatite. Most resellers are themselves not even aware that this range of product is professionally treated during the polishing process. The more recent material has a greater occurrence and intensity of an internal cracked like pattern else with vein-like features which have a haematoid like colouration. Irrespective of this material being heat treated it is the only material which even hits the commercial market out of the region. The natural material is far less gemmy, deep darker colours and considered a lesser grade by the regional lapidary owners. They simply choose not to work the natural material due to their limited success. Irrespective this material is very beautiful, and we love it to bits. This represents the only heat treated product we sell not out of choice but merely as a by-product of the realities which are the Madagascar rock market. From time to time we get very small batch of natural polished material, but this is very rare. Price is grade dependent. Items are as shown.
