Beautiful Silky Purple Rare Lavenderite Rough Material. Large Lavender Purple rough selected pieces for cutting or as mineral/healing specimens. This is a Serpentine mineral and is very soft and has a lovely creamy, silky texture, but also looks like( and gets confused with) our other very rare South African special stone: Sugilite. There are only a handful of good purple Gemstones anywhere on our planet, and this is one of the most attractive... and, although very soft, can be made into beautiful jewellery and sealed. This hasn't been dug out or found in any sort of decent sized pieces like these for a dozen years or so and usually used to come out in mostly small pieces. The technical name for Lavenderite is Stichtite...it is sometimes mixed with some green Serpentine and looks like raw bright Talc-rock. It is from one of the oldest surface rock areas in the World (3.6 Billion year old rock) We are selling this in batches of med-large sizes of 1 1/2 - 5 inches(which is all large for Stichtite). It is fairly lightweight, so there is more per kg than many other stone types. There has only been a couple of tons of this mined recently for the first time for many years. 1-10kg will be R200 per kg, 10-20kg is R190 per kg, 20-50kg=R180, 50-100kg is R170 per kg..please e-mail me if you wish to purchase larger quantities at info@toprocks.net
