This is a prehistoric Limonite Pseudomorph Coprolite Fossil, originally "deposited" in a shallow still water region with a high iron content. The Iron has filled the complete specimen exactly as it was made. This are approx 70-80 million year old prehistoric turtle faeces.
Every one of these has fine detail and looks almost freshly laid. They are very groovy, if you'll excuse the pun. Gnarly, twisted and undamaged. It took 3 months of searching and discarding to find this quantity of such perfect prehistoric art! Almost too good to be true, but they are 100% perfect and genuine.
Each piece weighs approximately 120 grams per unit, but picked for quality, size and value rather than weight.
These beauties come from the Mahajanga region of Madagascar.
